Hay, Billplane,
You caught my eye right away when I saw you were retired from the commercial aircraft maintenance industry. I too have just done that being employed as a Gas Turbine Tech at Atlantic Turbines International. My last claim to fail as head Bearing Inspector for the past 7 years. I see that you are heading for the south Texas area in January and Nov.26th will see us heading for San Antonino (Stone Creek Campground). Maybe we'll 'bump'into each other throughout the winter.

Hello. Welcome to Rv Scrapbook website. I would like to introduce myself, " Texas Terry." I hope someday we have a chance to meet in person and to be able to share some common interests. We Rvers are all like one big happy family. I hope you enjoy this website as much as I do. Please go and read all my blogs and Groups. I have added some very useful and helpful information I think would be beneficial to you. I hope all your rv journeys are interesting and fun. Take care my friend and fellow Rver. Texas Terry

If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet, peaceful place to stay after Labor Day and before Memorial Day weekend, I know you would love it here. Many of our visitors have told us that this is the prettiest location they have ever camped. We are only 5 years old and not located on a main highway; therefore winter visitors are just beginning to discover us through word of mouth and our advertising campaigns.

For your information, we are in a summertime resort area and stay fully booked from Memorial Day weekend til Labor Day with families spending their vacation here to canoe, kayak, and tube the river.

After Labor Day, when the kids are all back in school, our atmosphere and type and style of visitors changes dramatically. The empty nesters and full-timers, whom we refer to as our low-maintenance crowd, begin to arrive to take advantage of our greatly reduced off-season rates and moderate temperatures. We relax, enjoy the company of our visitors, party a little, and watch the wildlife that visits the park daily (deer, turkeys, armadillos, jack rabbits, and an abundance of birds).

Whether you stay a few days or the entire winter, I am sure you will find the beauty and peacefulness of our area amazing. Our winter visitors are like family to us; we fed 107 people at out Thanksgiving Dinner, where we cooked 11 turkeys in a variety of ways, and the campers all chipped in with their favorite covered dish. We also had a Christmas dinner, a New Years Day luncheon, and will be having a Super Bowl party.

If you have any questions, just let me know.

Thanks! Doug

Bring your umbrella! It's raining in Galveston, too!

I recommend the shrimp po-boys at the Cajun Greek on 61st St. Enjoy!

Safe Travels to you,
Pam

Hi Bill: I saw your note about a park in New Orleans... I don't know of one, but Jill and Jose spent a week down there, and said they found a great park. You can send them a message here at their page... just go to

www.rvscrapbook.com/rv_lifestyle

Also, we have a Happy Camper park down there called "Maxies" and I can send you info on that one if you'd like.  They will be 1/2 price if you're a Happy Camper member (I think you are?)

 Hope that helps!

Anne
