I have been a manual transmission guy forever. Absolutely nothing else would do.  We fell into a deal on a 2006 chevy dually diesel with ALL options. Plus the trailer package, airbags and a 5th wheel hitch already installed.  Oh yeah it had 10,000 miles and the Allison 6 speed auto tranny.

Folks, I am sold on that transmission.  It is SWEET!  Pulls like a train and has zero slippage.  It shifts at exactly the points that I would have with a manual and you have to be really paying attention to feel the shifts.  And yeah, it has the TOW mode and the manual mode just in case.  I did not need them with a 34 ft 5th wheel. Where have they been hiding this trans all my life.

My wife loves the heated seats. I love driving this thing.  Now if I could just get a diesel well in my back yard...( $4.35 a gallon today).

We are getting ready to hit the road for the winter. Heading to NC than GA, LA and staying in Texas for 3 months than working our way back along the middle. Still pulling with the Chevy but have had alot of problems this past month with only 35,000 miles Ball joint, tie rod engine and trans leaks, Had to replace staering column. Kind of concerned.
