The winter season has ended and the only folks here are either permanent residents, a few stragglers hoping to avoid snow back home or those just passing through on their way back up north.  A few die hard horseshoe players remain and someone is always up for a game.  A nice outdoor potluck helped us all clear out the freezers.  With 34 attending, (usually these dinners bring in about 125) we had some fantastic dishes, including London broil and venison steaks.  The night was cool so pitching was enjoyable after the meal.

Board games, cards and puzzles are keeping most of us busy in the evenings.  The pools are delightful with only a few folks in exercise class and most of us just relaxing in the sun.  Thought it was time to work on my tan so spend some afternoons reading at the pool.  What a nice time to relax.  Only 2 more weeks of work and then I'll have to decide what to do for the summer.  Have a chance to go to MT but not sure if I can afford the fuel.  Will wait till May to leave the beautiful Fountain of Youth.  Who knows where I'll end up?  Till next time, happy camping!  Susan

Was just getting ready to call or write to see what your plans are.  I'm changing travel plans too.  I'm in Desert Hot Springs now and am slowly returning to Santa Cruz..to do a new budet.  May have to forego my Pacific Northwest, Alberta plans and stay put a bit.  There is no diesel in these parts for under $4.00...Palm Springs is $4.49 ish....but it will all work out.....or not!  Let me know when you know.  gm

ps....I'll be here til 4/24...if you wanna drive over or up?  We could have dinner and see a show?

I sympathize with you on fuel cost. I just paid $3.45 in the big bend area of Florida. Its $3.28 in St. Pete.

A trip  that would have cost me $200 is costing $450 now.

I have been thinking about replacing awaning instead of traveling this year.
