Hey Debb here.
A couple of days ago I got a new baby bird. He is a Starling. He kind of looks like a crow. But any way, I named him Bud, cause he’s my little Buddy. He is always on my shoulder, like now for instance, he is on my shoulder. Today when I went in the kitchen my mom, Anne tried to pick him up by putting her finger under his chest and he would NOT go to her.

He wanted to stay with me. But, Mom finally just grabed him over the wings and he didn’t have any other choice. He was trying to fly to me but, he is still learning how to fly so he’s not all that great at it yet. He just landed on the table and I picked him up.

I still hand feed Bud with wet dog food and he pecks at his seed every now and then. I know exactly how to take care of a baby bird because my mom, Anne is known as the “Bird Lady” around here. Having a pet takes lots of responsibility. You have to clean up after them, clean them, feed them, and so many other things. I now circle my life around Bud. Bud hangs out with me 24-7. My dad, Bob calls Bud my “sidekick” and he is.

I love Bud very much and I’ve only had him a couple days. He doesn’t fly to any one but me. He knows I’m his momma and I know that he loves me.
