Last year was a great year for us camping. We visited several places. We camped out at the beach last 4th of July week. That was awesome. So many firework shows. We went to a few state parks. Enjoyed every moment we could camping. This year we have only got to go 1 time, cause I had back surgery in January. We spent 4 day at Clear Creek Park here in Jasper, Alabama.
Clear Creek Park is on the Walker/Winston County line around Lewis Smith Lake. It has great camping facility, a playground for the kids, bike trails, nature trails. It also has a beach area where you can take the kids to swim and play. I has clean shower houses and bathrooms all over the campgrounds. It is such a nice a peaceful place to go and sit back and relax. It must be a popular place, cause every time we have been it has been nearly full.

My best trip would have to be last October. We went and camped out at the Talladega race. We had a blast. We found this family campground named Memory Lane Rv Park. The people there was so friendly. It had clean facilities. I was great. I know for Sunday's race we were at the track and parked with in 10 minutes, and after the race, with all the traffic and everything we was back at our camper with in 15 minutes. I know that beats driving back home after the race. Which is usually about a 2 hr drive with no traffic, but with race traffic it usually takes about 5 hrs. I can't wait until we can go and camp there again. I would also like to go to different track and camp. I guess I will have to start saving up now.

Nascar, dirt track races, camping, fishing, playing the drums and guitar.

Hi, I was surprised to see a new member from Jasper, AL. I happened to have been born in Jasper, altho my family moved to B'ham when I was 1 yr old. I now live in Union Grove, AL, which is 12 miles south of Huntsville on Hwy 231. I didn't know there was an RV park in Jasper. Where is it, and could you tell me a little about it? I hope you and your family have a good time with your new RV. A good place to try that is fairly close to you is the Corinth Federal Park, on Smith Lake over by Double Spring and close to Looneys Tavern. It has full hookups, is well spaced with large concrete pad, extremely well maintained, beautiful and I think would be lots of fun for children. I have four sons (the youngest is 33 yrs old) and five grandchildren.
